Since 12 December 2007 Feralco Italia has completed its industrial base by acquiring the manufacturing unit of coagulants (aluminium salts) at the site of Livorno. The unit was previously outsourced to Feralco by Rhodia and this completes the project launched in 2004 with the acquisition of the water treatment business of Rhodia in Italy.

With the completion of this acquisition, Feralco Italia, a subsidiary of Feralco AB, strengthens its market position in Italy and southern Europe. With a manufacturing capacity of 60,000 tons per year of polyaluminium chloride Feralco Italia is the leader in its market.

Through this acquisition Feralco can better control the manufacturing process and significantly reduce its production costs.
